Six Sigma Quality Engineer and Healthcare?

six sigma

I have a friend who has Manufacturing engineer degree, with mostly Reliability Engineering, certified with ASQ, has Master Black Belt. As well as a very skilled statistician. He has done some seminars for some healthcare clinics and wishes (desperately!) to get out of the the QE/QS in manufacturing. Is there a way to merge his knowledge, skill set for the healthcare industry?

Is there anyone that has information that I can direct to him to that path? Would this require more education or is it well understood that in QE ‘a number is a number’ no matter the ‘product’?

I would call the ASQ and ask them. Quality is such a fickle business it is hard to say. One thing may be able to switch quite easily, while something very similar would not.

You can contact the ASQ by going to they have a live chat, phone numbers and email.

I worked there on a temp assignment last year, very friendly people who know their stuff and are willing to help you out.
